    Not only are the ships getting bigger, they are moving out of the Caribbean and Alaska arenas. Celebrity Cruises told me that they are pulling most of their ships out of the Caribbean by mid-2009. Seems they think that their largest cruising community (ie, North America) will follow them wherever they go. I disagree, and told them so. I think that when they determine that the cruising community won't come to them, they'll have to return. And having cruised over 55 times, I can outwait them, when they tuck tail and come back.

    Speaking as a frequent cruise customer, not as a mariner, I actually prefer smaller ships. I have been on the largest ships in the Carnival fleet and have been on their smaller ships too. I prefer the smaller ones by far!
