Used LORAN-A with its oscilloscope and then LORAN-C with its huge chart of hyperbolic lines of position. Current LORAN-C is wonderfully easy, with its built-in computer. I was told back then that LORAN was on the way out. I've been trying to find out what's been happening with the proposed closure of LORAN since then, so this is good info!<br><br>I also recently interviewed a man who broke ground on one of the Coast Guard's first LORAN stations in Alaska during WWII.
