The BBC tells us:
Cunard Lines is to build a 92,000 tonne liner which will be called the Queen Elizabeth.
The ship, which will be based at Southampton, will carry 2,092 passengers and more than 1,000 crew.

  • Your headline reads incorrectly and is misleading. ("Cunard Lines orders new larger version of the Queen Mary 2.") Cunard is NOT building a liner bigger than the QM2. It is considerably smaller than the QM2 but will be larger than the soon-to-be-launched Queen Victoria. The new ship will be named Queen Elizabeth, after the ill-fated first Queen Elizabeth.

    Thanks for the heads up. It appears that the BBC got the specifics wrong and changed their story... take a look at the original version from google cache:
