Many incidents could be avoided through better seamanship and good judgement. Philippines experiences about 20 typhoons annually so the shipping community should be better prepared. It appears that the Coast Guard are not proactive and there reactions are insucfficent. Other resoursces are not worthy of mention. Weather forecasts are generally very accutate and should be trusted in passage planning. <br><br>The warnings were obvious but it seems many accepted to ignore.<br><br>It is time for all authorities to be accountable and take action to prevent other major disasters at sea ( and on land too).
