I use Parallels on my MacBook Pro for the occasions when I need a Windows app. and it works very well. I have used Boot Camp too and had a true dual OS machine. Right now, I find that the virtual aspect of the Parallels software much more convenient than having to restart each time I need the windows environment.

I have a great interest in all things having to do with merchant shipping and am very glad to have found the gCaptain site. I really wish there were more sites and books about the day to day operations of the deck and engineering divisions. (books like McPhee's Looking for a Ship) The web site by Countryman and McDanial is full of information but it is very hard to read.

Anyway, thank you for having such a great source online for those of us who can only dream about going to sea.

Sincere Regards,

Tomas Texino

Re: gCaptain’s Travel Gear - An Office Aboard Ship

That is quite impressive Sir.
