YA!!!!!!!!!

Good article! I'm guilty of being a "great job guy" when I'm debriefing the crew, even when the performance was less than spectacular!

Something I need to work on, I can't be everyone's friend when lives are at stake!

Re: Easing The Pain Of Fire Drills | gCaptain.com

You know I was making waffles yesterday and they tasted kinda funny so my wife opens up the cupboard, finds the "Make It Yourself" play-Doh flour misaligned and quickly deduces the source of the taste. They may all look alike (flours and fires) to the untrained eye but don't assume they're all the same!

(True Story)

Re: Easing The Pain Of Fire Drills | gCaptain.com

Dper,
No offense to John, but I think I was briefing fire drills when he was realizing that the different colors of Pla-Doh didn't mean different flavors.

Re: Easing The Pain Of Fire Drills | gCaptain.com

” After the debrief, give them a Satisfactory, Marginally Satisfactory, or Unsatisfactory" I always thought the "Great job guys" routine was stupid. Just for info, the Royal Navy have just selected the Colt4 smoke system for on board fire and emergency simulations on board its entire fleet. This unit has the ability to make smoke off power once pre-heated, so it can be carried from one compartment to another making safe, artificial smoke as it goes without a trailing lead - http://www.concept-smoke.co.uk/video/portable-s...

Re: Easing The Pain Of Fire Drills | gCaptain.com

Great tips. Some of the new video cameras are hard drive or flash based, some even record direct to dvd. Nice and easy for recording the drills.
